Photographers Can Show Their Love of Trains With a Rail-Shaped Shoe Cover (2026)

Train enthusiasts, rejoice! Japanese photographers have a new way to showcase their love for trains: a camera hot shoe cover shaped like a railway track. This innovative accessory is the latest in a series of railway-themed products for photographers, following Ricoh's limited-edition camera straps made from Tokyo Metro train car fabric. The new rail-shaped camera hotshoe cover, designed by UN Co., Ltd., is a faithful recreation of the cross-sectional shape of railway tracks using machined aluminum. It even includes a keychain attachment, allowing photographers to carry their passion for trains wherever they go. The cover weighs about eight grams and is 18.6 millimeters tall, making it a noticeable but lightweight addition to any camera. This is not UN's first foray into train-themed items for photographers. Last year, the company released sleek hotshoe covers featuring the logos of the Tsubame Express and JNR Class C62 steam locomotive. The new UN Rail Shoe Cover is available for 3,080 yen, approximately $20, and is sure to be a hit among train-loving photographers.
