La DoubleJ Pre-Fall 2026: Double the Versatility in Summer Fashion (2026)

Keeping up with J.J. Martin is a whirlwind! This dynamic editor-turned-entrepreneur is always on the move, and her brand, La DoubleJ, reflects that same vibrant energy. From opening a store in Dallas to jetting off to Paris and Athens, Martin's schedule is packed. But here's where it gets exciting: her pre-fall 2026 collection is a testament to her jet-setting lifestyle and the evolving needs of her clientele.

Looking ahead to 2026, Martin has already marked key dates on her calendar. These include major events at La DoubleJ's new store in Palm Beach, Florida, and in Saint Moritz during January and February. And, the opening of a new store on New York's Upper East Side in March is highly anticipated. This ambitious retail rollout and Martin's own busy life require a wardrobe that's both stylish and adaptable.

Given this, it's no surprise that La DoubleJ's Milan showroom showcased a comprehensive collection. The pre-fall 2026 line, which Martin calls 'high summer' due to its retail timing, focuses on two key elements: exploring new fabric weights and maximizing versatility.

Inspired by her need for effortless pieces while vacationing in Stromboli, Sicily, Martin revisited La DoubleJ's bestsellers. She reimagined them in lighter fabrics. Silk twill was swapped for cotton voile in printed caftans and flowing frocks, creating a bohemian vibe.

But here's where it gets controversial: Terrycloth, unexpectedly, became a key player, adding richness and fun to dresses adorned with bold geometric patterns. Ruched, printed designs made from stretch tulle and jersey offered figure-flattering frocks with optical patterns, perfect for throwing over a swimsuit or hitting the dance floor.

Elsewhere, Martin embraced linen and macramé separates, along with dégradé color effects, for that same summery ease. She also incorporated thick cotton and solid colors for more transitional pieces.

Versatility is further enhanced by reversible designs, such as fringed ponchos and printed scarf tops that can be styled in multiple ways. Detachable, feathery collars add a touch of elegance, allowing outfits to be dressed up or down.

As Martin herself perfectly summarizes, it's all about "DoubleJ, double the way."
