Gabriel Gatluak Wal, a producer at King Media in South Sudan and a 2025 nominee, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, 'This marks the beginning of my journey. I'm now more motivated to focus on climate change stories.'

Jamila Mohamed, a managing editor at Citizen TV Kenya with over 20 years of experience, shared her pride in uplifting stories about women combating climate change. 'It feels rewarding to know that our stories are valued,' she said.
Being selected as a nominee among many entries holds immense significance, Mohamed noted, emphasizing the celebration of excellence in storytelling. She also stressed the importance of mentorship for younger journalists, citing passion as a crucial driving force in this field.
