Hytale Patch Notes - Update 1

Welcome to the exciting first Hytale update! We're thrilled to introduce new content, along with a range of fixes and quality-of-life improvements, to enhance your gaming experience. Our commitment to rapid patching ensures we address issues and improve the game swiftly.

World & Environment:
- Dinosaurs and other NPCs now inhabit the underground jungles, adding a thrilling element to exploration. Note that these NPCs are still under development and use placeholder behaviors.
- The Devastated Lands sewers now feature atmospheric effects and creature spawns, creating a more immersive environment.
- Volcanic areas beneath volcanoes display volcanic environmental effects.
- Entity placements, textures, and interiors in Feran villages have been refined for a more authentic experience.
- An invisible filler block behind the bench in the Forgotten Temple has been removed.

NPCs & Creatures:
- NPCs now have knockback resistance, enhancing their combat capabilities.
- Fire-themed NPCs and creatures are immune to fire damage, with a plan to prevent them from catching fire in future updates.
- The Crystal Earth Golem's combat behavior and spin attack have been enhanced for a more engaging battle.
- Skeletons no longer suffer from drowning damage.
- Kweebecs are now immune to environmental damage caused by cacti and brambles.
- The Trork Shaman's placeholder summon animation has been replaced with a more realistic one.
- Proper loot tables have been added to Kweebecs and Trorks in the Whisperfrost Frontiers.
- Livestock, such as chickens, no longer climb on top of chicken coops.
- Cautious wildlife predators, like foxes, will only engage players if attacked, promoting a more balanced gameplay experience.

Crafting, Items & Farming:
- The Backpack and its upgrades are now more accessible: the base backpack requires a Tier 1 Workbench (down from Tier 2) and costs 8 Medium Leather (down from 16).
- Upgrading the backpack for the first time necessitates a Tier 2 Workbench (down from Tier 3).
- Processing hides into leather now takes 10 seconds less for Light, Medium, and Heavy Hide.
- Crafting benches can access materials from chests within a larger 14-block horizontal and 6-block vertical range.
- Processing benches now display item tooltips in the upgrade requirements panel for better clarity.
- All raw fruits and vegetables grant Health Regen I, with cooking providing additional benefits.
- Dropped items no longer get stuck on blocks, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience.
- Torches and handheld light sources can be placed on the ground while equipped in the Utility Slot, allowing for more versatile lighting.
- Pickaxes and hatchets now swing only when using the primary action, promoting a more controlled gameplay style.
- Corn now yields 1 Essence Of Life when exchanged in the Farming Bench, addressing a previous misconfiguration.
- Fully grown Cauliflower and Pumpkin no longer drop regular seeds when broken by hand or with tools.
- Fully grown Eternal Crops no longer drop eternal seeds when broken.
- Wood Logs now display their respective wood type in tooltips, providing clearer information.
- Crafting recipes that previously required 'Trunk' now display 'Log' correctly.
- Tooltips for crafting recipes that require specific Log Types now list the trees that can drop those logs.
- The Woodcutter's Block is now a decorative furniture block, crafted in the Furniture Bench, with improved item quality and interactions.

Audio & Visual Effects:
- New hit and break sounds for stone and ores, with additional layered effects.
- Horses now play running sounds while mounted, enhancing the immersion.
- The Torch burn loop has been replaced with a softer ambient sound.
- Volumes for cocoon breaking, pig, piglet, and warthog sounds have been adjusted for better clarity.
- Pitch variation on sword swings has been reduced for a more consistent audio experience.
- New ore breaking particles have been added, with more to come for other food types.
- Fruit eating particles have been introduced, with plans to expand to other food types.
- A new particle effect appears above an NPC's head when absorbing their memory.
- Updated health potion visual effects with glitter, glow, and spiral particles for a more engaging display.
- Fixed rope offset when held in hand and hand positioning for plants, flowers, and foliage.

UI, Performance & Quality of Life:
- You can now sleep starting at 7:30 PM, providing a more realistic gameplay experience.
- An information panel explains the Memories system when interacting with The Heart of Orbis for the first time, accessible by clicking the '?' in the top-left corner of the Memories UI.
- Mouse button bindings for Toggle Fullscreen, Switch HUD, and Take Screenshot have been removed for better control.
- The game now warns when launching pre-release versions or opening worlds from different versions, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Field of view while sprinting is limited to 160° to prevent the hyper-drive effect.
- Cancelling LAN server discovery now works correctly.
- The interaction system better handles server lag spikes for a more stable gameplay.

Character Customization:
- New eye types: Cat Eye, Demonic Eyes, Goat Eye, and Reptile Eye.
- New mouth options: Large Mouth and Tiny Lips.
- New hair color: Lavender.
- The Bangs hairstyle has been reworked, and the Dark Brown color has been brightened.
- The Featherbound Hood is now correctly displayed for the Supporter edition.

Combat & Balance:
- Weapon attacks now require line of sight, promoting a more strategic combat approach.
- The regular Burn effect deals less damage, while Burn applied by lava remains unchanged.
- Cactus and brambles deal the Environmental damage type, adding a new layer of complexity.

Commands & Server:
- Fixed argument order for teleport commands: /tp .
- The Give command now supports specifying item durability.
- Whitelist and ban commands support both online usernames and offline UUIDs for better management.
- The server uses 'Bottleneck Bandwidth and Round-trip propagation time' (BBR) congestion control for QUIC.
- Improved authentication and session token error handling for a more secure experience.

Bug Fixes & Stability:
- Fixed a misconfiguration in weapon Charged Attacks, ensuring correct Stamina consumption when swapping to another hotbar slot.
- Fixed the signature ready sound playing incorrectly in adventure mode.
- Regular expression parsing in the /replace command has been corrected.
- Fixed an issue where signature attacks could be used without signature energy.
- Various items' interaction ranges have been adjusted to prevent unintended behavior.
- Fluid flow behavior when stacking water sources has been fixed.
- Crashes related to non-English folder names for screenshots, hairstyle variants, cached avatar previews, and memory plugin failures have been resolved.
- Fixed an issue where rewards from restoring memories were granted too early and did not match the required memories.
- 'Waiting for chunks' time has been optimized at a view distance of <128.
- Crashes when updating player models and localization loops affecting Norwegian language users have been addressed.
- Race conditions in instance teleport, causing entity removal and re-add issues, have been fixed.
- Session refresh for singleplayer servers has been improved.
- Crop growth issues, such as Tomatoes not growing correctly, have been resolved, with chunks now saved when a farming block updates.
