During his detention, he was denied a phone call and even struggled to reach his husband and attorney via his Apple Watch. In a peculiar detail, the agents agreed to take a diamond bracelet he was wearing, which was snagging on his handcuffs, up to his husband in his hotel room – it was through this act that his husband learned of his whereabouts.
This incident also brings to mind Jimmy Kimmel's own past brush with controversy. Kimmel was temporarily suspended by ABC for remarks made after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
